BD-R burn error.. several times!! Help please..

Q: I recently bought Nero Video 11. I've been trying to find something to burn MTS files onto a Blue Ray disk that is able to play on my stand alone Sony Blue Ray player. I talked to a Nero rep and said that it could do it.. so I finally broke down an paid for it.

Well 2 days later and about 5 very costly BD-R disks later I still have yet to have Nero complete a burn. I have gotten BSOD twice and a Nero ERROR 3 times. I finally figured out that I had to shut hug near everything down on my computer in order to not get the BSOD.

That sucks, but isnt to big of a deal. whats pissing me off the most is getting to the last couple min, Nero actually burning to the BR disk and then getting an error with only a couple min left after over 3 hours of waiting.

The orginal files are MTS, Its videos from my brothers wedding, so Im merging a few of them together to create chapters. Total size is 21.94GB out of 22.06GB(per Nero)

Using Optical Quantum BD-R's 25Gb 1x-4x Speed

Not sure what else you would need.. really hope someone can help me with this. This is the only reason I bought Nero.. To burn MTS files from my wife's P&S camera to BR disks..

This is a media problem - have you tried different brands of media and/or lower writing speeds?

ok, so the disks say 1x - 4x speed.. =/ guessing that's what I should set my speed for?

A:It says it's using 10x for the burn and gets all kinds of errors as a result.

Most blu-ray is burned at 1x-2x. However, if the disks specify 1x-4x, then you should give 4x a try.

Q:well I did it again overnight @ 1x speed.. and it did it again. =( new log looks identical to the last one I posted up.

Is it possible to get a completely bad batch of BR disks?

Have you software (E.g. Nero Burning rom) capable of burning to blu-ray disc ?

If so you can burn your video to Hard disk folder and then copy it to blu ray, and maybe try with a BD-RE.

Doing this you can save time and money, till you solve the problem.

A:Please post the latest log even though you thing their identical.

Only software I have that can do it is Nero Video 11..

Might give that a try.. couldn't hurt.

A:Again, it's saying that it's burning at 10x. As before, there must be a couple 100 errors.

Can you burn this to your hard drive when you get to the burn screen?

A:I guess it is your first but not the last disappointment with Nero Video 11. I’ve being playing with that software for 2 weeks and got frustrated a million.
So, my and your problems are absolutely identical: MTS files, burning problems, approximately big amount of memory (~21.7Gb) of a family movie, trying to make a blu-ray disk.
1. Nero dislikes MTS files. I own Hitachi camcorder and it records video files wth MTS extension. But my old AVCHD files from Panasonic camcorder (.m2ts) are OK for Nero. What I did, I just changed .MTS to .m2ts and the files became viewable right away. Try at least one of your files and you will see how it works.
2. The biggest problem with Nero you are going to deal with is its terrible video-audio sync. I've made a movie and at the end of it (3hr 18min) the audio part ended-up 15 seconds after video (!!!). 1hr movie gave me 5-6 seconds of delay.
My recommendation is
• try to change .MTS to .m2ts then
• go to NERO BURNING ROM, open NERO Express (it will be in the left bottom corner of the screen), and
• drag and drop your BDMV folder from Windows Explorer into BDMV folder on NERO Express screen. Then
• burn Blu-ray disc and try to watch it. You will not have a chance to create chapters (very painful), but at least its sync should be fine.
