Show Time - Nero 9 Error Message

Q: I have had Nero 9 since it was introduced and have updated it when an update is available, including this month's version. I have never tried to view a movie on my computer until today. On inserting the DVD I get a message to select a player. I choose Showtime as it was highlighted. I received the following message. "Internal error. Cannot build graph. The application may be installed incorrectly." I completely removed Nero, using the Nero Clean up Tool, and reinstalled using the latest update and still I get the message. The movie plays fine on my DVD player connected to my TV; just will not play on my computer. Windows Media Player says it need a Codec, so I cannot play it there either. I am not a master user of a computer, but I can follow directions.

Any ideas of what may be causing the problem and how to repair the situation.

A:First of all, thanks for pointing out that an update to V9 has been released. Everyone has been expecting it but didn't know when.

What is the format of the video? Is it blu-ray?

the error "Internal error. Cannot build graph..." is most commonly caused by old graphics card drivers or graphics cards that do not fulfill the minimum system requirements. Please check if there are newer driver for your graphics card.

Q:The DVD is not BlueRay. I think that LittleHelperMJ below may be on the problem.

Thanks for your input. I believe you may be on to somthing. I do have a very old machince and hence a very old graphics card. I am old too. I think it has the lastest drivers but I will check. I suspect my computer may not meet the minimum syster requirement. Willl have to find those and check. Good excuse to buy/or build a new machinace. Just like many others, money is tight right now.

A:Personally I would go for the purchase option that way you get the latest OS, possibly more memory, larger HD etc.

Taking the individual cost of the OS, memory, and HD, this almost accounts to the cost of a PC. That is if you are not into the GAMES world.

Anyway would it be nice, to have a pretty new PC sitting there to show family & friend that although many years have passed, you are still up with the latest technology
