Kwik DVD error message
Q:I have Nero Kwik Media and purchased Nero Kwik DVD to burn dvds. I’m trying to burn videos onto a dvd disc. I have selected the video I want to burn from the Browsing screen. I pushed the Publish button. I chose the correct recorder for me (E: Slimtype DVD…) and then chose my compilation type (DVD – Video). I then selected the Burn button. After this, it lists Time Remaining and begins to Estimate. Time Remaining gets to 00:00:55, then it pauses while Preparing, then displays the following error message:
An error occurred during burning. Publish process was aborted.
Not a very helpful error message. I googled it and got nothing. I can find nothing on the Nero forums, either. Nero support online is not helpful. I’ve tried different videos to burn, different discs and still encounter the same error. The file types I’m trying to burn are VOB, IFO and BUP. VTS files are the ones that appear in the upper Publish Content section. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium, 32-bit.
A:Are these personal files that you took with your own camera or are they commercial?
What happens if you try to burn one of the sample videos?
Q:Commercial. When I burned one of the samples, it worked. I don't belelive the sample was the same file type of what I'm trying to burn. Additionally, the sample was about 28MB; what I'm trying to burn is about 4.3GB. I've tried burning smaller files, less than 4GB, using the VOB file types and I still get the same error message.
I should say that I downloaded the free trial version of Nero 10 or 11 and had no problem burning these exact same files. Now that I have purchased Kwik DVD from Nero, I would expect that it would work, basically the same way. Bad expectation.
A:You've got me baffled. Normally, you can't burn commercial video because it's usually copy protected. That's why I asked the things I did.
Since the trial versions don't support mpeg-4, AVCHD or Blu-Ray, the commercial videos must have been in some other format.
I don't know where you can buy standalaone Kwik DVD. I know it's available if you have purchased a copy of v10 or v11. That could be the issue. Maybe you can enlighten me.
Q:When you download Nero Kwik Media, you can purchase multiple "add-ons" for it; they're not free. Nero Kwik DVD is one of these add-ons. You cannot burn DVDs from Nero Kwik Media; you have to purchase Nero Kwik DVD to do that.
If you purchase Nero 10 or 11, you can burn DVDs with them without having to purchase Kwik DVD. I only need to burn DVDs so I didn't want to have to pay the $60 or whatever it is to just burn DVDs with Nero 10 or 11. However, I knew that their trial versions would work because I'd burned commercial DVDs with it before and had no problems whatsoever.
Then I found out that Nero made Kwik Media for free and that for 5 bucks I could order Kwik DVD. Hope that clarifies things. Thanks for reading and helping.
End Solution from nerobbs.com: copy the Videos on to your drives, and use Format factry refomat them to AVI files, then Use kiwi to burn it.
But we suggest you to Buy Nero 7 Premium if you just use it to burn a Video DVD, Nero Vision 4 of nero 7 Premium can do it more better.
For nero 7 Premium now is just $10, much more better than KIWI
